2500 years of Buddhism commemorative coin
This is a beautiful showcase of Buddhist art presented on a sterling silver 5 rupee coin from Sri Lanka.
this piece is extremely rare with only 500,000 being minted and over half of them being melted down just 5 years later reducing the population to less than 240,000 coins left.
this would be a great addition to anybodies collection due to the sheer beauty and detail shown on this coin.
this coin was made in London for Sri Lanka to commemorate the 2500 year anniversary of Buddhism.
it is composed of sterling silver and has a face value of 5 rupees.
